Hi, welcome back to the series of social with Nancy. I used to be a follower of some fashion-related blogger on Instagram who had that little light to know it symbol logo in the bottom of their pictures and their pictures were shoppable. It is so convenient for me.
Due to the COVID-19 last year, I was required to stay at home. In order to earn extra income, I started to learn about affiliate marketing. Now even if you’re not a blogger, it’s likely you’ve heard of the Pongoshare affiliate program and/or LIKEtoKNOW.it! These platforms allow for blogger to make a small commission off of the items bought through their links. It’s generally cents on the dollar, but anything is better than nothing! I think that a lot of influencer marketing or how influencers make money or content creators make money is a little bit mystical. Like how does it all happen so what I want to do here is demystify everything. If you have questions please don’t hesitate to send me an e-mail and ask me.
Affiliate marketing is a fancy sounding term for earning commission on the sales you earn. Your readers aren’t spending any more on the products they buy, but the company who sells them is giving you a tiny slice of the sale for sending the customer their way. So for instance, maybe I tell you about my fave ever cleansing oil, you buy it, it costs £10 and I might earn around 30-50p of the price of the cleansing oil when my link is used. The reader doesn’t pay £10.50, the store just gives me 30-50p out of their profits. The way that the store knows I’m the one who has sent the sale to them is because my link will have a unique tracking code that relates to me. Get it?
Whilst the individual sales aren’t gonna pay for the cost of that new lens you wanna buy, as you get more readers and make more sales, together the tiny percentages of commission do add up. Some weeks I make very little, other weeks I make a tidy sum. It’s worth doing, plus, it’s nice to know you’ve helped your readers find an amazing cleansing balm. Y’know?
At first, I just like creating content on Instagram where I shared my life and outfits. After studying of affiliate program, I asked myself why didn’t I try it. So I applied for LIKEtoKNOW.it & RewardStyle at once. However, the amount of time it took me to apply for the program makes me feel a little embarrassed and, at the time, made me feel like I wasn’t good enough, all around it just made me feel awful. It really sucked. After applying about 5-6 times, I gave it up.
But I still wanted to try again. I searched Google about other great affiliate networks to join, Pongoshare is one of social platforms that do not reject anyone and which you are automatically accepted into. Through social media and one of the things that I’ve been sharing a little bit about lately is influencer marketing so I wanted to share with you guys Pongoshare.
Pongoshare does have a web-based platform, has no need to download dedicated app.
Let me show you how to apply for the Pongoshare and how to use Pongoshare:
Step 1: Sign up and create an account on Pongoshare website.
Step 2: Choose products. Once your account is created, you can choose the product you like in the product pool and create your personalized referral link. Commissions are tied to your unique links.
Step 3: Share your links and start earning. Share your referral links on your blog, social media posts, in your e-mails, or wherever you’d like and watch the commissions roll in!
As an influencer, I do try my best to create great quality content, great quality images so my followers might be attracted by what I recommended. And I’d like to post a consistent theme with my content, for example, I fixed up my house and I was willing to share a lot of home decoration in and home style so that I could sell home decoration recently.
As a follower, you can simply open the social platforms or apps and search for bloggers or influencers through the search bar. This will take you to their individual page where you can view all Pongoshare-enabled posts by that particular influencer. The main benefit for both brands and shoppers is easy-to-use.
Customers no longer have to hunt down their favorite outfits or do deep research to figure out where to buy the item they saw. Instead, they’re linked almost instantly to a page where they can purchase the items they like.
For brands, it delivers prospects straight to the end of their sales funnel with minimal marketing cost. It provides brand awareness, generates interest and engagement, and in the best cases, a sale. And it’s also as easy as signing up with Pongoshare.
Oops! It is very kind of Pongoshare that I have got $5 at once when officially registered, and get another 0.5$ for inviting someone to enter in the description page at the very beginning. The more you invite, the more you get. In other words, you need a significant following and high engagement on social media, especially widely-used platforms or blog. If you’re not at that point yet, then it’s time to get busy.
So it’s a time to start monetizing your blog/Instagram. And let’s be real, it feels pretty good to be recognized for your hard work — especially as part of a program that feels excellent.
